THE RULES:

1—All pokemon must be nicknamed.

2—I must attempt to catch the first pokemon I see in any route or area. I may catch no others in that area.

3—If a pokemon faints, it is considered “dead” and may no longer be used. I will release them from the next PC.

4—Legendaries cannot be caught or used.

5—The Pokewalker cannot be used.

6—If the first encounter is a duplicate of a pokemon I already have, I may ignore it and re-try for a new one. After three re-tries, however, I must catch the fourth one even if it is a dupe.

7—Gift pokemon, such as Bill’s Eevee or the Tyrogue from the Karate King, can be accepted and used and do not count under the “first encounter” rule. Forced encounters, such as Sudowoodo and the Red Gyarados, however, do count under the “first encounter” rule.

8—In-game trades are acceptable, but out-of-game trades, even to make pokemon such as Haunter or Graveler evolve, are not.

9—The Daycare Center cannot be used to breed, but it can be used to level up pokemon.

10—If all pokemon in my party faint, or if I am in a situation where I need to use a move like Cut or Surf to progress but have no pokemon that can use these moves and cannot obtain one without breaking the rules, I lose and my adventure ends.

Route 25

Hello everyone. Today, I’ll be facing three mighty boss battles. The first is right here: the legendary pokemon Suicune. According to Eusine, Suicune is looking for a trainer to entrust itself to. Well, uh, sorry doggy, but I’m just here to kick your ass.

BOSS: Suicune

Suicune is… a measly lv. 40? It’s almost not fair! *sigh* Go, Randall lv. 58. Thunderbolt brings Suicune down in one hit.

That… was it. Yep. Mighty boss fight. And where’s the second one?

Route 30

Right here. It’s time… for the rematch of the century!

BOSS: Youngster Joey

I said I’d be back for you, Joey, and I fucking meant it! Youngster Joey’s Raticate is lv. 40 and top percentage all the way. Who can stand against him? Kenya, lv. 57. Raticate does 18 damage with Quick Attack and Kenya knocks it out with a single Return. Simply epic. :’p

Ecruteak City

Okay, for real this time. The last boss really is one, I promise. We got the Rainbow Wing in Pewter City and there’s a second great bird here waiting for us to challenge it. I’m feeling confident against Ho-oh thanks to Vivian, Noelle, and Sofia, but it might still be chancy. However, I’ve got a plan.

Bellchime Trail

Eesh, the lack of music is actually kind of ominous. At the end of it lies…

Bell Tower

I liked it better when it was the Tin Tower.

My encounter here is a Gastly. I name him Augustus. Adamant nature, “Often lost in thought.” Now time to drop some repel and get to work.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love the music here? Despite the fact that there are no HM moves required, the jumping puzzles are mostly linear, and there is only one entrance to the dungeon, I get lost here far more easily than in Whirl Islands—mostly because I was more familiar with Silver as a kid.

And how did these hi-tech teleporters get into an ancient Japanese tower?

Finally making it to the pinnacle… it’s time.

BOSS: Ho-oh

I lead with Noelle, lv. 57. Ho-oh is a monstrous lv. 70. Gulp… let’s do this. I drop an X Sp. Def, which turns out not to be a good idea as Ho-oh uses Punishment on the first turn, dealing about 1/3 of her health as damage. The more boosts I have the stronger that move is. There goes my Dragon Dance strategy…

I guess I’ve nothing to do but attempt to spam Waterfall and heal if she gets low.

Ho-oh uses Safeguard next, and Waterfall hits for half damage. If I can survive just one more turn, it’ll be down!

Oh crap, Ho-oh used AncientPower! That’s super-effective against Noelle—I didn’t know that it could use a Rock move!

Noelle just barely lingers, however, and the next Waterfall takes it down.

We’ve defeated Ho-oh! Awesome! Next time, we’ll continue our adventure. Stay tuned!

Current Teammates: Kenya (Fearow), Noelle (Gyarados), Randall (Magneton), Jacob (Nidoking), Vivian (Dragonite), Sofia (Starmie)
