THE RULES:

1—All pokemon must be nicknamed.

2—I must attempt to catch the first pokemon I see in any route or area. I may catch no others in that area.

3—If a pokemon faints, it is considered “dead” and may no longer be used. I will release them from the next PC.

4—Legendaries cannot be caught or used.

5—The Pokewalker cannot be used.

6—If the first encounter is a duplicate of a pokemon I already have, I may ignore it and re-try for a new one. After three re-tries, however, I must catch the fourth one even if it is a dupe.

7—Gift pokemon, such as Bill’s Eevee or the Tyrogue from the Karate King, can be accepted and used and do not count under the “first encounter” rule. Forced encounters, such as Sudowoodo and the Red Gyarados, however, do count under the “first encounter” rule.

8—In-game trades are acceptable, but out-of-game trades, even to make pokemon such as Haunter or Graveler evolve, are not.

9—The Daycare Center cannot be used to breed, but it can be used to level up pokemon.

10—If all pokemon in my party faint, or if I am in a situation where I need to use a move like Cut or Surf to progress but have no pokemon that can use these moves and cannot obtain one without breaking the rules, I lose and my adventure ends.

Saffron City

I’ve added a new pokemon to my party in lieu of Laika—Vivian, the Dratini I received from the Dragon Clan. “Relaxed nature, likes to fight.” I’ve taught her Dragon Pulse and Fire Blast from TMs, on top of the moves Extremespeed and Thunder Wave she already knows.

However, I have tragic news. While I was training up Vivian, I took her onto the S. S. Aqua to battle some trainers there. I had her equipped with the Exp. Share and would switch out to another pokemon to level her up. One trainer sent out a Koffing, and when I switched to Aaron, it used Explosion.

Aaron didn’t survive.

That’s another pokemon we’ve lost… I’m not sure what I’m going to do. For the moment, let’s head north of Saffron City. Vivian is a lv. 35 Dragonair now and she knows Dragon Pulse, Extremespeed, Thunder Wave, and Fire Blast.

Route 5

A Pidgey? Wow, normally it’s not post-game that we finally catch these. “Relaxed nature, often dozes off.” Calling him Nolan. Caught him via a Love Ball—he has a crush on Vivian, it seems. Keep dreaming, bird.

Okay, further north.

Cerulean City

Some lady says she makes an awesome combination with her Slowbro. Cool! Nearby, the “Cerulean Police” look like a middle-aged couple who complain about how they’ve been robbed before. Boy, just invites confidence, don’t it?

Everyone in town’s talking about the Cerulean Cape. Let’s head up that way.

Route 24

I did my best. I have no… eh, forget it.

We pass by a young couple that have eyes for each other and little else. Our encounter for the area is a—ah! An Abra! *-* Augh, my poor Kadabra… sorry, Aaron…

I snag her with a Quick Ball. Her name’s Zeena. “Adamant nature. Somewhat of a clown.” Next route…

Route 25

A School Kid sends out an Oddish, lv. 45. Though Vivian is a full ten levels lower, I think she’s in no danger. Fire Blast! It doesn’t take it down, but Extremespeed puts a stop to it.  Vivian also takes on the next two trainers, though the rest of my team has to step in every now and then. If you’re wondering about Vivian’s personality, she’s quiet but strong-willed, and fierce in battle.

A Camper up ahead sends out Nidoking. Hah hah, let’s send out our own! Go Jacob—oh crap, he got hit with an Earth Power on the swich! D: Live-live-live-live-live… phew, he lives. That was close… and dumb on my part, augh! Switch to Noelle!

Hmm, our encounter for the area. It’s… another Bellsprout. :I Well, let’s try to catch it anyway. I have Lizzie on as an HM slave, so let’s have her whittle it down. Down to the red, another Love Ball, and… done. Naming him Norton, “Docile nature. Highly curious.”

Further down the line two Lasses spring on us in a double battle. But since they’re packing the likes of Paras and Gloom… yeah.

A Super Nerd up ahead gives me another scare. His Porygon is lv. 47 and it hit Kenya hard on the switch with Ice Beam. Thankfully, Randall swung in and saved the day.

Well, we’re at the cape. Wasn’t Misty supposed to be here? Ah, I may have done things out of order. I think you’re supposed to go to the Power Plant first and kick off the subplot with the stolen part there first. >.<

Bill’s house is here on the cape. His grandpa asks for a pokemon with a long tongue. Hey, we have one of those—Addy’s in the box! Let’s go get her!

We bring Addy, and he’s ecstatic. Now he wants a blue pokemon with leaves on its head (Oddish). Well, we’re outta luck here. I never caught one.

Hmm… but all this talk of evolution stones has me thinking. I can’t get a Water Stone here, but I think there’s one in the Seafoam Islands… I guess I could also get one through the Pokeathlon (meh) or having Fisherman Tully call me about one (double meh). I could evolve Sofia the Staryu into a Starmie with that… should I do that? A Starmie would be a good teammate. You know, I think I will! Let’s go! First, we’ll have to go to the Power Plant, and that means returning to Cerulean and heading east.

Route 9

Hmm, lots of trainers here. I know I was training Vivian north of Cerulean but she’s still not even 40 yet… I don’t want to waste all of Kanto’s EXP leveling her up, and that’s not even counting Sofia. Until I get my Water Stone, I'll only fight If I absolutely have to. Then after I raise up Sofia and Vivian to be on par with the rest of the team, I’ll tackle things proper-like.

Speaking of absolutely required battles, I run into one right now—a Camper barring the way. His noobish Golduck and Sandslash stand no chance against me!  Ooh, we find the Flash Cannon TM. That’s going on Randall straight away!

We reach the water and, after depositing Lizzie for Geoff, I Surf on over to—oh! A new pokemon! She’s a Goldeen. I’m naming her Lucy; her details are "Relaxed, somewhat vain."

Route 10

Encounter here as well. It was a Spearow, but that didn’t matter due to Vivian KO’ing her with Extremespeed when I was trying to whittle it down.

Now inside that ominous building!

Power Plant

Wow, such chill music. I’m used to this being a place where you have to wade your way through suicide-bombing Voltorbs and Electrodes for a chance at Zapdos…

We bumble around and as we leave, the guard gets a call aiming us towards Cerulean City. Okay!

Cerulean City

Back here again. Let’s stop by the Gym. Hey, that’s him! After him!

Route 24

He forces himself between a young couple to try and look inconspicuous. Yeah, sure, buddy. His Golbat isn’t even lv. 40 yet, but it manages to be a bit annoying with Confuse Ray and almost kills Vivian with a lucky critical hit! Still, he goes down easily enough. Now, back to Cerulean.

Cerulean City

The Gym is still empty, so I pick up the Machine Part without problem. I’ll meet you at the Power Plant.

Power Plant

Yep, the Power Plant is back in business! For our reward, we get the Charge Beam TM. Nice! Next time, we’ll continue our journey to make our way to the Seafoam Islands and pick up that Water Stone to evolve Sofia. Until then, stay tuned!

Current Teammates: Kenya (Fearow), Noelle (Gyarados), Randall (Magneton), Jacob (Nidoking), Vivian (Dragonair), Geoff (Tentacool)
