Hey everyone! Airheart's been going for a little over half a year now. In celebration, I'd like to open for a Q&A!
ANY QUESTIONS CAN BE PITCHED, TO ANY NON-LEGENDARY CHARACTER WHO HAS APPEARED IN-STORY AS WELL AS ME, THE AUTHOR. You can address questions to some characters, individuals, or everyone. I'll try to answer them all, though no promises! Questions close on 10/21/23, so please get them in!
Tips on submitting literature to Eclipse
As it says. I'm trying to upload the next chapter of TDWC but since Stash Writer (which is what I used to use to submit material) is no longer present, copypasting the text is a nightmare since it doesn't keep things like some text being formatted to the right, or even the blank lines I use to separate paragraphs.
Eclipse is a clown car of a site change in general, but this is something else. Anyone have any idea how to efficiently post literature in the new site?
There's a bad actor named chicoARTS going around asking poke-artists (mostly comic artists from what I've observed) if they can feature artists' work in their group. The thing is, rather than just spotlight the work the original artist posted, chicoARTS then takes that as free invitation to upload artists' work to their own account, and refuses to take down said art even when the original artist asks for them to remove it. They justify this by claiming that an informal agreement made over deviantART notes (one in which no clear terms were given, at that) counts as a "contract" and that reposting others' intellectual property is protected under the First Amendment.
To see this bad egg in action, check out the comments of this piece (PMD Operation Rune Of Fate *COVER*) in which a large number of the original authors request chicoARTS to remove the art and they refuse to do so; or this journal (On Community Services and Policies) in which chicoARTS outlines their flimsy defenses and, once again, rebuffs requests by artists in comment sections to remove their pictures.
tl;dr - chicoARTS is a deceptive art thief who uses vaguely-worded notes and requests as justification to post your art to their account and then refuses to take it down in the face of numerous requests.
